Jack Herer strain buds growing with crystalsNamed after the marijuana decriminalization activist and author Jack Herer, possibly best known for his book “The Emperor Wears No Clothes,” the marijuana strain that bears his name is an extremely potent hybrid from the ever-popular and potent Haze, Northern Lights and Skunk strains. Jack Herer is a sativa-indica cross-strain that has a resonantly earthy taste which is reminiscent of a true skunk strain, including a hint of the sweet Haze flavour that offers a more cerebral-taming high which is great for smoking during the daytime. Although it has a rather long growing period and is not well-grown in climates north of southern California, “The Jack” as it is most often referred to as is one of the first sativa-indica cross-strains to win the prestigious Cannabis Cup. Mango Kush is another strain that has been on the market for a while, but only sought after for very specific uses.  Aside from the incredibly tropical taste – aptly named after the Mango – it still has a very strong cannabis scent.  If you were to take a very skunky bud and soak it in mango juices overnight, you’d end up with something similar to this.

Mango Kush delivers a very potent high that not all users are equipped to handle.  For this reason, people suffering from chronic pains are your average consumer.  Although it is a hybrid strain, all evidence points to being Indica dominant and displays a majority of those effects. The AK-47 strain of marijuana is a very old and stable strain that has been on the market for years.  Although this is a hybrid, it is renowned for providing the high associated with an enhanced mind.  That being said, smoking too much will cause the couch lock that many people dread.  Having won more awards than any other marijuana strain in existence as of 2014, there’s no way of denying the popularity of this plant.
